Last Minute touches

Hay is coming in tomorrow to set up for the corn box and the hay maze, and the corn will be delivered on Wednesday. This weekend, we got do to a little decorating as we planted all our mums and decorated with corn stalks and our beautiful pumpkins and gourds. Fun to go out to the fields and pick some of the fun stuff to spread around.
We are focusing this year on adding to our gift ‘shop’, as it truley is the farm shop, that is transformed into a lovely fall festival. We have added so much, some of the favorites being a new line of apple cider -squeezed in Cashmere and bottled in beautiful wine bottles. It comes in original, raspberry-apple, pear-apple, blackberry-apple and old world milling spice. Each one is a unique blend, we will be doing some sampleing so you can see for yourself. We have also added a line of fresh fudge – come and taste a few varities. Lots of new things to choose from. Oh ya – don’t forget the warm mini donuts made fresh on site each weekend! See you there! Soon!

Sling Shot is the new added attraction

We’re adding a sling shot this year, looks like a great toy!! (according to the grandkids) It will be set into place this afternoon hopefully now that the rain has slowed. Setting up targets, if you hit one with a pumpkin, you win a prize! It will be three shots for $1.00, we’ll see how many it takes for your target practice at the farm.

An a’maze’ing look at corn

There was actually a beautiful evening this week, (can’t hardly remember it with all the rain that followed) and I had the opportunity to take a ride in the sky to get a picture of the maze. Our good friend and neighbor, Jon, offered to take me up to get some pictures. I was so excited to be flying, that my pictures weren’t the best! It is so much fun to see the end product after months of work!! There is no use making a picture in the corn, if you don’t get an opportunity to see it. Check out our website to see if you can tell what the design is this year.  Let me know what you see…

Two week count down

Things are starting to heat up out at the patch. Pumpkins are starting to turn orange, picking will begin in another week, they would still like to see some sun. This week, we got to head out to Grandpa T’s wood shop and build some window boxes to dress up the country store. Since it doubles as a shop, we decided to build them as tool boxes out of some left over wood from the deck. Got them planted, and they are now hanging-out at the farm too! Always feels good to get a project complete

Leavin the Farm

It’s official-  All of our cows have left for greener pastures in Eastern Washington.  Today we start our transformation from dairy farm to Pumpkin Patch!

The cows have done a great job by fertilizing our fields and are leaving the rest up to us.  The crops are enjoying the rain, but are hoping to see more sun shine before October.
